The first Saturday in September is saltwater license-free fishing—residents and visitors can fish recreationally without a license. License-free fishing day provide an excellent opportunity to take youth fishing, or for avid anglers to introduce a friend to fishing without having to purchase a license.

It’s a great chance to relax, have fun, and maybe even catch dinner! All normal fishing rules and regulations still apply — only the license requirement is waived.
